John Tomic, the increasingly notorious father of Australia’s greatest tennis hope, Bernard, is currently banned from Wimbledon, just as he was from the French Open four weeks ago. But rather than hold a grudge against the two Grand Slam tournaments, Tomic Jr. is pointing the finger of blame directly at the ATP World Tour.

Regardless of the fact that Tomic Sr. was actually allowed into the Aegon Championships at London’s Queen’s Club, part of the ATP World Tour and played between the two majors, his son is unrepentant in his accusation.

“I’m not saying it’s Wimbledon,” said the 20 year-old who is staying in the same house as his father, close to the All England Club . “I’m saying it’s probably the ATP. It’s their decision. From what I know it’s very disappointing and I’m going to keep saying it is. For sure, I will try to have a word with them.

“Wimbledon are harsh but they are going on the ATP’s decision and I know the ATP are talking to Wimbledon. They’re basing their decision on that. I can’t blame Wimbledon, I think it’s all the ATP’s fault and I’m going to keep blaming them. They know I’m not on their side, I’m on my Dad’s side.”

Tomic Jr. has previously forgiven his father for the assault on hitting partner Thomas Drouet, with the case set to be heard in Madrid in October. John Tomic’s defense in the case will be based around his claim he acted in self-defense.

The world no.59, who won, moved into the Wimbledon second round with an extended 7-6, 7-6 , 2-6, 3-6, 6-3 win over 21st seeded American Sam Querrey said: “From what they [the ATP World Tour] investigated about my dad, whoever is on their board, said clearly he was on the phone with my father and made a decision on behalf of that.”

Bernard insists it is ATP that has removed his father’s credentials as coach for 12 months, therefore banning him from attending tournaments in an official capacity. At Queen’s he was allowed to purchase a ticket to watch as a spectator, with certain stipulations as to good behavior, but Wimbledon, like Roland Garros, has blocked such a process.

Tomic Jr. continued his tirade against the ATP after coming through “I know they’re very strict and we’ll see what they say. It would be amazing to have my dad here watching me as a coach and father. But Wimbledon are very strict.

‘I’ll try to talk to whoever I can but they made their decision on behalf of the ATP and they’re not really going to do anything.”

It is understood that Tomic Sr. attempted to buy a grounds pass ticket from a scalper as his son was playing on an outside court. But there was no sign of him at the match. But Bernard confirmed the pair had spoken on the telephone soon after the completion of his win over Querrey and said: “He’s very pleased that I won. It’s very difficult to play a match without your coach or father who has been there your while life.”
