Day 1 of The Championships  |

@tennis_sven

WoW What a day it is 11 pm and I just finished my day! One of the better things of Wimbledon is the planning of our practise schedule! At every other event during the year we can start as early as 7 am and finish as late as 2 am ! Here in Wimbledon nobody is allowed to go on any practise court (other than an indoor court) before 10 am! This is due to the humidity and the moister on the court!

Everyday I walk from the adidas house to Wimbledon around 9:30 am. A 20 min walk down the hill and on site towards Aorangi where all the practise courts are located!

There I found the newly installed tennis ball that was placed last week next to the practice court area! Detail is what Wimbledon is all about!

And not only in placing some green around the grounds but you must check out the Wimbledon website and go to the live scores and look for the IBM Slam Tracker!

As many of you may or may not know but recently I co-created an statistics app (www.gpstennis.com) but if you love statistics you must look at the picture below! Technology will become more and more part of our game!

Today you could have found me 3 hours on a practise court and 2 times on center court, 1 time court 10, 2 times on court 3 and 1 time on court 8! Except Kiki Mladonavic all of the other girls won their matches (Caroline Sorana Christiana Andrea Garbine Monica Bojana and many more)

Center court was a full house and sitting in the players box is a very special feeling and never taken for granted!

And from the Player lounge Balcony I was able to watch the match of Andrea Petkovic who received a well deserved wild card and won her 1st round match in 2 sets!

Day 1 was a marathon day and tomorrow will be day 2 of my Wimbledon marathon! Now time to go to sleep! Hope to see you tomorrow!

To be honest I never ever attended a full weekend of Davis Cup. So that is why I needed to take my parents as they also never experienced this phenomenon.
