This was the 2nd day at Wimbledon and the topic of the day was “Wimbledon Whites”
Yes we all know about the “Wimbledon Whites predominately White Rule” this means White has to be 90% of the color of your outfit! This has been the tradition and I know it will stay as long as Wimbledon will be played!
Let me elaborate further! In Preparation for The Championships all singles and doubles players who are playing in the main draw get a chance to practise 30 min on The Wimbledon Courts! Therefor you will see many players plan their 1 time 30 min hit with another player so they get 1 hour! These rules are very strict but another rule that is very strict this year! Not only the players but also the entire support team (who is on court during the practise on The Wimbledon Courts) need to be in Whites too!
In the referee office this announcement was given out to prepare us!
Today I prepared well and picked up my card in my Wimbledon Whites at the referee office
I had several practise today on the Wimbledon courts so I did not want to get kicked off, like many did today! Those who got kicked of went to the same referee office where they were supplied with either a white shirt or short of both for those who did not wear white!
Today Sorana took a great picture of her whole team in the Wimbledon whites and send out a tweet about detergent advertisement!
Besides the Wimbledon white there were some great players playing and preparing for their tournament! One of them was Andy Murray who was looking good while working on his slice backhand!
To finish the day I stuck to my annual routine and made a pit stop at the holly grail of Grass! The Wimbledon Championships Center Court! It may not look like much but the energy and the history and the spirit that is there will humble any body!
Tomorrow rain is expected and it will be a challenge for many of these players to remain calm and safe their energy for the Monday start!
