Hewitt Is Delighted To Back On Grass | 
Lleyton Hewitt is so happy to be back on grass that the 32-year-old Australian doesn’t need anyone spoiling his current good mood as he builds at Queen’s club for his 15th straight Wimbledon appearance.
“I don’t know. I’m not going to keep answering that every day,” snapped the 2002 Wimbledon winner when asked how long he could continue a career which has been marked by injury.
Instead, Hewitt prefers to concentrate on the joy of playing on his favorite surface. “It’s one of my favorite events,” he said of Queen’s, the classic grand slam tune-up which he has won four times, most recently, though in 2006.
“I’ve always enjoyed getting off the clay anyway and onto the grass. I have had such a good record here, as well. Most times it’s taken pretty good players to beat me here.”
Hewitt, who went 0-3 in an abbreviated clay season, refuses to gauge his potential progress on grass. “We’ll see what happens with the draw and just take it one match at a time. I still believe in my ball striking and obviously my movement out there. I still enjoy the big tournaments, obviously Wimbledon, Australian Open, two of my favorite tournaments. The Grand Slams and Davis Cup are still what I play for.”
