Final Quotes

Serena Williams: “I think my winning appetite was really high. So I think I put maybe a little pressure on myself and because of that, I maybe made a lot of mistakes that I didn’t make in other rounds. But also, with that being said, it really got me through a lot of tough points that I knew I needed to win.”

“I’m really relaxed. I really enjoy every moment that I’m out there. I always said that I felt like I have never played my best tennis, that I feel like I can always do better and play better and I have always wanted to reach that level. Maybe I’m still just trying to get there.”

Maria Sharapova: “I think getting to the Roland Garros final is not too shabby, so I’d say that’s a positive. Coming back as a defending champion, I know it’s never easy to come back with that title, so I’m happy that I was able to produce good tennis within these last two weeks and come to that stage. A lot of my favorite tournaments are coming up. There is a lot to look forward to, definitely.”
