French Open quarter-finalist Stanislas Wawrinka has yet to fully finalize his coaching deal with Swede Magnus Norman with the pair hoping to discuss their future in the coming weeks.
Wawrinka headed to Lausanne while Norman jetted off to Sweden and his tennis academy after Wawrinka lost to Rafael Nadal at the French Open. The pair have been working together during the clay season and are likely to take it onto the grass before mapping out a plan for the remainder of 2013
The number nine player said that Norman will make coaching appearances as he can with his crowded schedule and that the pair hope to find time to sit down and map strategy for the fast-improving Wawrinka.
“I will take a week off, and then play s’Hertogenbosch and then Wimbledon,” said Wawrinka. “In the locker rooms we talked about the match, But in any case, he will call me or I’ll call him. The whole point with him is to plan things ahead of time, find the best slot, the most important moments for him to be with me.
“I hope that I can have one or two weeks after Wimbledon when I’ll have the big tennis practice, and then after this he will be back at the US Open. The weeks before the US Open I will go to Montreal and Cincinnati alone.”
