Beautiful day in Paris on the mid Sunday when things are starting the get hot on court because the finish line is getting in our sight!
Today the juniors started and it was an effort to go from court to court as it was packed on the mid Sunday!
Courts are spread out and moving from court 5 to court 17 sometimes takes more than 15 min but for those who live in Paris they are used to this traffic.
Today I also caught up with 2 of my former players Esther Vergeer and Nathalie Dechy. Both girls extremely successful tennis players and now working on growing the game!
Esther is here for a few days and to attend the ITF world championship dinner on Tuesday. As one of the ITF wheelchair tennis ambassadors I was also invited and will make a special report on That evening and Esther!
Nathalie is now member of the tournament committee here at Roland Garros and takes part in the day to day scheduling planning and organization of the tournament! I caught up with her today together with her Son who had a special mask made at the “FanZone”
In between meetings I always go back to my favorite spot of the tournament and that is the adidas Lounge! Esther had never been there because she thought was not wheelchair accessible but she was pleasantly surprise it was and was able to catch a behind the scene look.
As I was leaving the site today for our team dinner I could not resist to take a picture of the crowds lounging in front of the big screen to get all the action of Simon vs Federer. If you look close the flag was flying high above of the country that is called home for the winner of that match.
I do want to congratulate my ITF wheelchair ambassador colleague Tommy Robredo for winning his 3rd match in a row after fighting back from loosing the 1st 2 sets and win them in 5 (so Igor nothing to be ashamed off) he has the heart of a champion!
Tomorrow more juniors and more meetings!
