Today at 8 am the official tournament transportation was picking me up to go to Roland Garros to start day 3!
We knew it would be a challenge to get in the practise sessions and all the matches but we never really know what can be expected so you prepare for any scenario!
Players like Djokovic, Sharapova, Na Li and Caroline Woznaicki were out early at the practise facility across the street
Matches that are planned for the 11 am start will find players prepare around 9 or 9:30 for a hit! That means a 7 am wake up call! Today those matches did not get on court until 2 and due to rain did not finished around 5! This means adaptability and flexibility is needed!
Most of the spectators were having to deal with this scene all day!
But at the end of the day only 3 matches were in court and had to be postponed till tomorrow (earlier in the day some matches had been cancelled and moved to tomorrow!)
Right when the match of Thiemo de Bakker and Stan Wrawrinka had come to an end it started raining again! But through put the match the sun was out but most of the court was in the shade!
A strong performance by Thiemo and believe he will have a strong remainder of the tennis year!
Now after another 14 hour day at the site I am going to call it a night! See you tomorrow!
