I think he was the best mover I had seen over 6’5″. Jerzy Janowicz’s movement on clay and his movement forward is tremendous. The commentators keep saying he shouldn’t do that well on slow surfaces, but it gives him a little time to get to the ball and set up and his big shots are still big enough to be winners on red clay. He still is very young in tennis experience terms. But if you double his last 6 months, without a significant performance at any slam, he would be ranked in the top ten already and maybe even knocking someone out of the top 8. Love the way he follows his dropshots to the net and closes off the court. A little steadier on the groundstrokes, a few less double faults and a comfort level in his own skin and he will definitely be in the top 10. And that’s without the maturity on court and comfort with the pressure that will come over the next 2 years. He is actually showing the other players how to close at the net!
