Mercedes-Benz announced that No. 1 Novak Djokovic has been selected as its new brand ambassador for Mercedes-Benz.
Djokovic drives the Mercedes A Class while at home in Serbia. The Mercedes A Class is said to be a super-mini, or a small family car, that was first produced 1997. The second-generation model (W169) appeared in late 2004, and the new generation model W176 was brought out in late 2012. Originally launched only as a five-door hatchback, the second generation W169 introduced a three-door hatchback to sit six inches below the five-door. It is considered to be the entry-level model of Mercedes-Benz.
Djokovic is looking to support the car manufacturers’ many humanitarian efforts. He said as much after initially agreeing to take on the role of brand ambassador, explaining that he felt proud to represent the “world’s leading automobile company,” and hoped to take part in “humanitarian activities” at both the “national and international level.”
