Former World No1 Carlos Moya has confirmed his place in the field for Brodies Champions of Tennis, the first ATP Champions Tour event to be held in Scotland taking place June 20th to 23rd.
Moya is one of a small number of tennis players to have reached three of the greatest heights in the sport, winning a Grand Slam singles title, Roland Garros in 1998, reaching the World Number One position the following year and helping Spain to win a Davis Cup title in 2004.
The final places in the tournament’s 9 player line up are confirmed as South African Wayne Ferreira and the Swedish duo of Thomas Enqvist and Mikael Pernfors.
Six of the players will compete in a six man ATP Champions Tour competition, while the remaining three – John McEnroe, Wayne Ferreira & Mikael Pernfors – will compete in a special Legends event.
The draw for the Champions Tour competition sees Henman pitted against old foe Ivanisevic in Group A alongside Enqvist and Group B has encounters between Greg Rusedski, Mark Philippoussis and Moya. The players will also compete in exhibition doubles matches throughout the week with Henman and McEnroe being partnered together to face Ferreira and Enqvist on Friday the 21st of June.
