New Women’s Apparel Company Is Gaining Attention   |

A new women’s tennis and fitness apparel company with the unusual name, 30:Fifteen, which focuses on providing tennis clothes for women of all ages is already catching on.

The young entrepreneur and designer, Emily Tonkin has said that her intention is to provide apparel for women whether they workout 5-6 times a week, or just once a week. “I want the cute, stylish, comfortable and durable designs to encourage women to workout, play sports and be active,” she said. “30:Fifteen encourages a healthy active lifestyle and by offering gorgeous garments, there really is no excuse. The debut collection is tennis focused, but the tops and shorts are ideal for any workout.”

Tonkin’s collection is divided into 4 groupings with women’s names: Alethia, Sue, Anna and Jane. Each group has a different focus and style but all four embody the 30:Fifteen qualities and confidence.

“My inspiration and ideas come from myself and the women in my life,” she said. “I come from a very sporty family and I lead a very active lifestyle. I could never find affordable, cool workout wear or tennis outfits, so that was my starting point. All the women in my family/friends are all different sizes and they influence my ideas and are my inspiration so a lot of my designs are based on this.”

Apparently Twilight star Judi Shekoni is already a fan of the collection and First Lady Michelle Obama has also requested one of the tennis outfits. As well as being recently launched in the UK, America and Australia, 30:Fifteen is also about to launch in Dubai.

The 25-year-old Tonkin trained at the prestigious Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Los Angeles.  She grew up in the UK and spent a lot of her childhood playing tennis and dancing.

Her line has been featured in Top Sante, Tatler and has been requested for fitness shoots for Marie Claire, Health and Fitness and Women’s Fitness, which are all due out in the summer. Made in Chelsea, the UK’s popular reality series has also requested the sporty yet girly clothing line, for the stars as they pick up their rackets to play tennis.
