At the age of 28, France’s Gilles Simon has been around long enough to be able to conduct strategies for himself. Currently he is without a coach after splitting with Thierry Tulasne
The world No. 13 is unsure whether he wants to continue this way. Jo-Wilfried Tsonga had a reasonable amount of success when he went it alone for more than year but after failing to meet all of his goals, he hired Aussie Roger Rasheed last fall. Simon isn’t sure which way he will turn, but it sounds like he may try and bring someone else in.
“I am asking myself the question,” Simon said. “I believe I might have someone working with me. It can happen. I believe I need to not only work on my physical fitness, but also on my game. That is a lot easier with a coach. So I know I have many things to improve. I have my experience playing alone. So I believe someone would be very useful and it will happen before the French Open.”
