– Isner claims his first career title on clay, and the sixth of his career.
– Isner fired a tournament record 64 aces in the match, surpassing the previous mark of 60 set by Pete Sampras
– Isner is the fourth active American player to win an ATP clay court title, joining Mardy Fish (2006 Houston), Sam Querrey (2010 Belgrade) and Ryan Sweeting (2011 Houston)
– Almagro and Isner are the top two players on the ATP World Tour for aces this season. Through Sunday, Almagro leads the circuit with 266, while Isner has hit 258.
– Almagro is now 12-7 in ATP finals in his career. All 19 finals have come on clay.
