Katowice

Singles – Quarterfinal: (1) Petra Kvitova def. Petra Martic 6-3 6-2

Nothing Petra Kvitova can do here will affect her ranking. But it’s good to see that she continues to play up to her abilities….

Singles – Quarterfinal: (2) Roberta Vinci def. Karolina Pliskova 6-1 6-0

Roberta Vinci had struggled earlier here. Looks like she now has her clay bugs worked out! She has started to earn points, but she needs a title to rise in the rankings.

Singles – Quarterfinal: Annika Beck def. Maria Elena Camerin 7-6(7-1) 6-0

Annika Beck continues her steady progress up the rankings. She will rise to probably just below #60.

Singles – Quarterfinal: Alexandra Cadantu def. Shahar Peer 5-7 6-3 6-3

Back into the pits for Shahar Peer. A win would have gotten her back into the Top Hundred; not now. Cadantu, who came in ranked one spot ahead of Peer (#117 versus #118) will make it.

Doubles – Semifinal: Arruabarrena/Dominguez Lino def. Birnerova/Buryachok 6-0 6-3
