Fickle Frenchwoman Marion Bartoli is back on the market for a coach after dispatching a second temporary mentor this season. France’s L’Equipe reports that the No. 14 is no longer working with Gerald Bremond, a brief-lived collaboration which lasted for just the Monterrey tournament in Mexico, where Bartoli lost in the first round to American Coco Vandeweghe.
Already in 2013, one-time top 10 regular Bartoli has split with a tandem coach pair comprising former Wimbledon champion Jana Novotna and Iwona Kuczynska.
Reports suggest that Dr. Walter Bartoli may soon be headed back to his daughter’s side to resume the coach role that he took up more than a decade ago and which was only ended recently after Bartoli said she wanted to try something different.
Bremond had been working at the Paris-based Mouratoglou Academy – the European hangout of Serena Williams – where he had coached Russian Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova. Bartoli is playing Fed Cup this weekend for France against Kazakhstan.
