Singles – Quarterfinal: (6) T Berdych def. K Anderson 6-4 6-4

And so Kevin Anderson’s grand odyssey is finally over. The last unseeded player (indeed, the last player ranked below #8) is out of the draw. But he did well enough to put himself back in the Top Thirty and clinch a Miami seed. By losing, he clinched one other thing: That Sam Querrey will return to the Top Twenty.
