Melbourne, Australia. The semi finals of the Australian Open. Things don’t always go according to plan down under…..Where was coach Gavin? Roger the best ever Federer lost to Andy Braveheart Murray. Yes it was five sets, not four, not straight. But here’s the result. Murray wins 6-4,6-7(7/5),6-3, 7-6(7/2), 6-2….. And what was Novak Djokovic doing the whole time ? Relaxing. Hanging with his friends and family and watching every moment of the match on television.
The way the order of play was scheduled Nole had a 72 hour rest. It was a great match. If the great Serb a man with flexibility, balance, mental toughness, oh I haven’t even mentioned his talent as a tennis player , if he wins the 2013 Auzzie he sets a record. Three in a row!
The difference in the number of ACES served was shocking. Andy served 21 total aces. Roger a mere 5? Where was the Fedbomb serve? Wow five sets and Murray the man on a mission didn’t serve a double in five sets. That’s a heck of a statistic. The biggest roll was the fifth set it lasted 30minutes. Who ever wins a 30 minute set against Roger Federer?
This years Auzzie open has been amazing. The tv coverage was awesome. The weather was typical “four season ” in one day. But mostly. Hot. Hot. Hot. It was forecast. It came true. Now we await a fantastic final. It’s going to be amazing. These two are friends and have been battling on tennis courts since the juniors.
