Player News

This week brings the last significant Challenger of 2012, the Ankara $50K. It’s not spectacularly strong, but it does feature Mandy Minella as the #1 seed. The most interesting name in the draw, though, is probably Alexandra Dulgheru, trying yet again for a comeback. She got off to a decent start, beating Amra Sadikovic 7-6 4-6 6-0 in the first round.

As you may have seen in World News, Serena Williams has just had minor foot surgery. It seems likely that she will be able to compete in the Australian Open.
