Boris Becker, who already has a variety of business interests, is looking to get into oil and gas exploration. The 45-year-old has been engaging in talks with India’s Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC).

But ONGC chairman and managing director Sudhir Vasudeva told the Hindstan Times that Becker and his team had met him last week and expressed interest in doing business together.

“He told us he has floated a London-based company, Becker Office Pvt Ltd, through which he wants to cooperate with ONGC in our Nigerian oil and gas exploration blocks,” Vasudeva said. “We have asked him to send us the details of the proposal, which we shall evaluate.

Former Wimbledon champion Becker retired in 1999 and since then has expanded the number of Mercedes-Benz dealerships that he owns, has a real estate business, and his own line of tennis equipment and apparel.
