Voters in Miami-Dade County voted overwhelmingly to allow non-taxable funds to be spent on the tennis facility on Key Biscayne that is home to the Sony Open.
72% of the voters of Miami-Dade County showed their support for the Sony Open and its efforts to create a better year-round park for both public and tournament use, paid solely by revenues derived by the Tournament.
The Sony Open means nearly $400 million in annual economic benefit to the County. It means that each year the world sees Miami in the best possible light through the lens of 7,000 hours of international television coverage.
