Octagon announced that it will manage Martina Navratilova on an exclusive worldwide basis. Octagon will handle Navratilova’s tennis opportunities, develop her career in the entertainment and television space, and handle her speaking, literary and marketing endeavors.
A true trailblazer for women in sport, Navratilova had an unprecedented four decade run in professional tennis where she amassed an incredible total of 59 Grand Slam titles and was inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame. Among her many accolades, Navratilova was honored as one of the “Top Forty Athletes of All-Time” by Sports Illustrated and was named the Associated Press’s “Female Athlete of the Year.” Prior to retiring in 2006, she became the oldest player to ever win a Grand Slam title, one month shy of her 50th birthday.
Today, Martina is a sought-after public speaker, addressing issues related to health and fitness, human rights and equality, leadership and women issues. Founder of the Rainbow Endowment, one of the strongest supporters of LGBT charities, Navratilova has fought through adversity to become a symbol of empowerment. An active broadcaster, she can be frequently seen on Tennis Channel giving commentary from all four Grand Slams. In addition, she is an accomplished author of both fiction and non-fiction and is the fitness ambassador of the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP).
