Australian tennis bad boy Bernard Tomic has copped a fine of $1,000 and been placed on a one-year good behavior bond after being found guilty of traffic offenses in his native Queensland. The 20-year-old whose ATP on-court life was a disasters during his last few months, must now watch his step with local cops in his Gold Coast home sure to be keeping an eye on him.
Tomic went to court after being stopped several times in January after his Australian Open ended. The offense: driving more than allowed on his learner driving permit in a former high-powered orange BMW he once owned but was forced to sell.
Tomic also admitted to three other charges stemming from his bad day at the hands of local traffic police. They comprised: breaching his license conditions and failing to keep left of double dividing lines.
