Top seed Juan Martin del Potro reached advanced to the Erste Bank Open final for the second successive year on Saturday. In 2011, he lost to Jo-Wilfried Tsonga.

“The second final in a row is nice for me,” said del Potro. “I am getting better match-by-match, which means improvements in my game and to my confidence. I am very happy to play in the final again.”

The 24-year-old Argentinean beat Gilles Muller of Luxembourg 7-6(4), 7-6(5) in one hour and 51 minutes. It improved his chances of qualifying for the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals next month. He started the week at No. 7 in the South African Airways ATP Rankings Race To London.

Del Potro improved to a 56-14 match record on the season, which includes two ATP World Tour titles at the Open 13 in Marseille (d Llodra) and the Estoril Open (d Gasquet).
