Natomas Racquet Club to Host USTA Pro Circuit Event, September 29- October 7
SACRAMENTO, California, October 5, 2012-It was a big day for the Americans at the Relyaid/Natomas Challenger as they won three of the four quarter-final matches that were played.
Headlining the day’s play was No.2 Seed James Blake who won the featured afternoon match on center court defeating fellow American and former NCAA Champion Bradley Klahn, 7-6(5),7-6(4). The semi-finals won’t get any easier for Blake as he will meet Bobby Reynolds. Reynolds after a close first set used a solid baseline game to wear down Luca Vanni (ITA), 5-7,6-2,6-3.
Daniel Kosakowski continued his great run as he took out No.5 Seed Matteo Viola(ITA), 6-4,6-4 For the 20 year old Kosakowski, he had now won 13 straight matches, which has included a first round victory over top seed Benjamin Becker and two Futures Tournament wins.
Kosakowski’s opponent in the semi-finals will be Mischa Zverev(Ger), who used his hard charging serve and volley game to defeat American Tennys Sandgren 6-2,6-4. The left handed Zverev, who was born in Russia, will play Kosakowski in Saturday’s first semi-final match at 12 noon. The Blake/Reynolds match will follow with the final match of the day being a doubles semi-final match with Tennys Sandgren (USA) and Rhyne Williams (USA) playing Alex Kuznetsov (USA) and Mischa Zverev (GER).
