Raymond Moore has become the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Indian Wells Tennis Garden, one of the premier tennis venues in the world, and the BNP Paribas Open, the most-attended ATP World Tour and WTA tennis tournament in the world to be held March 4-17, 2013.
Moore, who has been involved with the event for 25 years as a former owner and managing partner, will continue to be directly involved overseeing the operations of the tennis tournament and the Indian Wells Tennis Garden while reporting to Larry Ellison, the owner of both assets through Tennis Ventures LLC.
“I’m excited about continuing my role in serving the BNP Paribas Open and its staff, sponsors, players, affiliates and fans,” said Moore. “The tournament built an exceptional foundation over more than three and a half decades, but has also experienced explosive growth since Larry Ellison took over the event and facility a few years ago. I look forward to working directly with Tournament Director Steve Simon and the opportunity and challenge of taking this event to new heights as we strive to continue being one of the premier sporting events in the world.” Simon will continue in his current role as Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the Indian Wells Tennis Garden and Tournament Director of the BNP Paribas Open.
