Golfing boyfriend Rory McIlroy will accompany Caroline Wozniacki to Korea as the former WTA No. 1 begins pre-New Year’s eve festivities in Asia with what would appear to be a well-paying gig at an exhibition in Seoul.
The December 28 date at the capital’s Jamsil stadium will pit No. 11 Wozniacki against Maria Sharapova, the reigning French Open winner and current No. 2.
Wozniacki will be playing in Korea for the second time in four months after winning this month’s WTA event there, her first title in more than a year since she began her slide from the tennis top 10 elite.
For Sharapova, the absence has been much longer, with the LA-based Russian marketing icon winning a WTA event there in 2004, She last played in the country a year later, losing to Venus Williams.
McIlroy will be at a loose end during a pause in the golfing calendar and is expected to take the opportunity to spend some time with his girlfriend.
