The KDB Korea Open was not only pleased to have a former No. 1 come through and win its title, but was happy with attendance and sponsor participation. Caroline Wozniacki won the tournament last week.

This year, it doubled its prize money from $220,000 to $500,000 and also used the Hawkeye for the first time. “We plan to make it the No.1 international sports event in Korea,” tournament director Lee Jin-Soo said. “This is a stepping stone to going from an International-level tournament to Premier-level.”
