Promoters event, StarGames and Madison Square Garden announced that The Montreal Rendez-Vous will return for its second year at the Bell Centre in Montreal on March 18, 2013.
The 2013 Rendez-Vous will feature “Canada vs The World” in a modified team format headlined by Milos Raonic, who, at age 21, is the youngest player in the ATP Tour’s top 15; the number one ranked Canadian of all time and tennis’ fastest rising superstar teaming with 18-year-old Montreal sensation and Wimbledon Junior Singles Champion, Eugenie Bouchard. Bouchard is Canada ‘s first player to win a Grand Slam singles title and recently reached her highest rank of #2 in the world on the ITF Junior rankings. The Westmount , Quebec beauty comes off a strong summer which has seen her climb to #166 on the WTA Tour rankings, her highest ranking. Raonic and Bouchard will battle The World Team which will be comprised of a top ranked male and female player to be named later.
The Rendez-Vous is collaboration between three of the world‘s most influential sports promoters—the Bell Centre‘s production arm evenko, StarGames and Madison Square Garden. StarGames and Madison Square Garden are partners in New York‘s annual BNP Paribas Showdown which has become the world‘s most unique one-night tennis exhibition
