Santiago Gonzalez and Scott Lipsky improved to a 3-0 team record in ATP World Tour finals after defeating Pablo Andujar and Leonardo Mayer 6-3, 4-6, 10-2 on Saturday afternoon at the Winston-Salem Open.

The Mexican-American duo also won the clay-court title in Barcelona on their partnership debut in 2011 (d. Bryan/Bryan) and teamed up to win the grass-court title in Newport last month (d. Fleming/Hutchins).

“I’m very happy to have won our second doubles title of the year and to be able head to the US Open with some wins under our belt,” said Gonzalez. “We are going to try to keep improving.”

“It’s definitely exciting to win another title with Santiago,” added Lipsky. “We’ve done pretty well together when we’ve played, so we’re looking forward to the rest of the year.

“Winston-Salem has been a great tournament. It’s one of the best stops on the tour. It’s very relaxing, especially the week before a Grand Slam, to be able to come here and get as much court time as we need.”

Gonzalez, 29, has now won five ATP World Tour doubles titles while the 31-year-old Lipsky has won eight.

Andujar and Mayer had joined forces for the first time this week, and posted upset wins over top seeds Rohan Bopanna and Mariusz Fyrstenberg in the quarter-finals and defending champion Jonathan Erlich and Andy Ram in the semi-finals. Andujar falls to an 0-3 mark in doubles finals and Mayer to 1-2.
