John Isner fired two dozen aces in this match, and even so, it took more than two hours. Still, it lets Isner keep the #10 ranking he came in with. But what will he have left for the final?
Singles – Semifinal: (2/WC) T Berdych def. (7) S Querrey 6-4 6-3
Sam Querrey started well in this contest, but then Tomas Berdych took charge completely. It appears Querrey will stay at #28 despite adding points; Berdych won’t move either. On the other hand, a title would be a nice way to prepare for the U. S. Open.
Doubles – Semifinal: S Gonzalez/Lipsky def. Marrero/Sa 6-4 6-1
Gonzalez/Lipsky have had some pretty good doubles results, but still, what an obscure set of finalists!
Doubles – Semifinal: Andujar/L Mayer def. Erlich/Ram 6-2 6-1
