More good practice for Jo-Wilfried Tsonga. Still no points, though.
Singles – Third Round: (2/WC) T Berdych def. (16) J Nieminen 6-3 6-2
Jarkko Nieminen remains below #40. Tomas Berdych needs two more wins to earn any points.
Singles – Third Round: (4) A Dolgopolov def. (14/WC) D Nalbandian 6-3 6-4
This will let Alexandr Dolgopolov keep the #15 ranking. But David Nalbandian wil still be #45 or lower.
Singles – Third Round: S Darcis def. (5) A Roddick 7-6(8-6) 7-6(7-3)
Quite a streak for Steve Darcis — first he beat Denis Istomin, now this. Not many points for it, though. There aren’t many points for Andy Roddick, either, obviously; this will drop him from #21 to probably #22.
Singles – Third Round: (7) S Querrey def. (9) F Lopez 6-3 6-4
Feliciano Lopez loses his chance for a return to the Top Thirty.
Doubles – First Round: (1) Bopanna/Fyrstenberg def. Butorac/Hanley 6-4 6-7(4-7) 10-3 (Match TB)
Now that is an interesting alignment: Rohan Bopanna without Mahesh Bhupathi and Mariusz Fyrstenberg without Marcin Matkowski. The Poles will probably get back together. But the Indians may well be better off apart.
Doubles – First Round: Marrero/Sa def. (2) Marray/Nielsen 6-3 7-6(7-3)
The Wimbledon doubles is looking more and more flukey.
Doubles – Quarterfinal: S Gonzalez/Lipsky def. Knowle/Polasek 6-1 3-6 13-11 (Match TB)
