Andre Agassi has been forced to pull out of the Legends Night at the Rogers Cup with a back injury. He will be replaced by former World No. 1 Michael Chang who take on another former World No. 1 in Jim Courier on Monday night at Uniprix Stadium.
Agassi claimed he injured his back while practicing a couple days ago.
Chang will play Courier in singles in addition to joining Martina Hingis, Courier and Martina Navratilova in a mixed doubles match.
“We are disappointed because we know how much the fans like Agassi, but we hope they will be happy with the new line up of players,” said Rogers Cup Tournament Director Eugène Lapierre. “A duel between two former World No. 1s will certainly be interesting for fans, but we will also offer compensation for all of our clients who purchased a ticket for the evening.”
Clients who purchased a ticket for Legends Night, will receive, in compensation, a ticket for the session of their choice, from Tuesday August 7 to Friday August 10 for the 2012 Rogers Cup presented by National Bank, depending on availability. All exchanges will be made directly at the Uniprix Stadium box office with the presentation of the original tickets only.
