Babolat Agrees To Become Partner of Tennis Canada
Injured Rafael Nadal might not be playing this week at the Toronto Masters, but his longtime racquet sponsor Babolat of France will be on the scene after signing an agreement to become a commercial partner of Tennis Canada.
The firm, the oldest company specializing in tennis which has supplied equipment to generations of champions will work with the federation through its Canadian distributor Vezar et Associés in Quebec .
Babolat will become the official supplier for all the on-court clothing and footwear for the 2012 edition of the Masters. That means that ball-boys, line umpires and chair umpires will be dressed and equipped by the brand.
Babolat believed that the company’s research and development of tennis gear is helping to improve player performance.
“Footwear is essential for the performance of a player and his enjoyment of the game,” said company boss Eric Babolat. “We are already equipping tennis players worldwide, champions on the ATP World Tour and WTA Tour.
“We have recently signed a partnership with Wimbledon to be the official shoe brand of the Championships starting January 2013. Today, we are glad to collaborate in Canada at this great sporting event.”
