Eastbourne
Singles – Quarterfinal: (3) A Seppi def. (7) P Kohlschreiber 7-5 2-1, retired (ankle)
Philipp Kohlschreiber played both Halle and Eastbourne — one of the heaviest schedules of any player this grass season, particularly counting travel time. Let’s hope it doesn’t cost him at Wimbledon! He won’t rise above #29. But Andreas Seppi extends his winning streak here….
Singles – Quarterfinal: (6/WC) A Roddick def. F Fognini 6-3 3-6 7-5
The good news: Andy Roddick picks up enough points that he should return to the Top Thirty. The bad news: He had a long day and still finds himself only in the semifinal….
Singles – Quarterfinal: S Darcis def. (Q) M Matosevic 6-2 7-6(7-4)
This put Darcis against Roddick — with Darcis having had the shorter day, plus he finished sooner.
Singles – Quarterfinal: R Harrison def. D Istomin 7-6(7-5) 6-4
Denis Istomin at least made the Top Forty before meeting Ryan Harrison. Who, with this, isn’t much below Istomin; he can expect to hit another career high.
Singles – Semifinal: (3) A Seppi def. R Harrison 7-5 6-1
Back-to-back finals here for Andreas Seppi. He’s back to #25 in safe points. Except….
Singles – Semifinal: (6/WC) A Roddick def. S Darcis 6-3 3-1, retired (back)
A bad day for retirements, obviously. Something for the organizers to think about next time the come up with a schedule like this one…. Still, Andy Roddick is up to about #27. That’s close enough to Andreas Seppi that he, not Seppi, will be #25 if Roddick wins the final.
Doubles – Semifinal: (3) Fleming/Hutchins def. Ebden/Young 6-7(3-7) 6-4 10-8 (Match TB)
Doubles – Final: (3) Fleming/Hutchins def. (wc) J Delgado/Skupski 6-4-6-3
Everyone on Thursday thought the scheduling here was crazy — put off the singles to play one doubles match? And now it gets crazier: Play one doubles match on Thursday, then play the other semifinal and the final on Friday? About the only defense to be offered is that it obviously didn’t bother Fleming/Hutchins. They win their second title of the year (following Delray Beach), and their third in the last twelve months (they also won St. Petersburg 2011).
‘s-Hertogenbosch
Singles – Semifinal: (1) D Ferrer def. B Paire 7-6(7-5) 3-6 6-1
This match suffered multiple rain delays, and they seemed to bother David Ferrer a bit. At least, he went into several funks in this match. Maybe that will matter less once he’s playing best-of-five matches at Wimbledon….
Singles – Semifinal: (Q) P Petzschner def. X Malisse 7-5 7-5
Both these guys like grass a lot, and both guys really need to stack up points here. But Philipp Petzschner’s need was arguably worse, since he came in at #145. He’s now back right around #100.
Doubles – Semifinal: Cabal/Tursunov def. Becker/Petzschner 7-6(7-2) 7-6(7-4)
A substantial surprise, given the surface and Dmitry Tursunov’s recent troubles. Maybe Philipp Petzschner is thinking too much about the singles.

The Wimbledon draw is of course now available; you can see it below. We will probably have our preview tomorrow.
