Hertz has announced that it will be giving fans exclusive access to the leading tennis player through daily interviews conducted throughout Wimbledon.
Hertz is official transport provider of The Championships.
As part of the new “Driving The Championships with Hertz” video series, the company will be interviewing one player or tournament official every day. This is in collaboration with The All England Lawn Tennis Club’s Live @ Wimbledon initiative. The interviews will be conducted in a Hertz Ford Galaxy Zetec as the players travel to The Championships between June 25 and July 8 – until the winners have been decided.
All the players will be transported in Hertz cars .The footage will be uploaded every day and will be available via links from the Hertz website, the company’s Facebook and Twitter pages, the Wimbledon website, and the new Live @ Wimbledon channel.
This is the 18th year in a row that Hertz has been the official transport supplier for the Wimbledon Championships. During the two weeks, the company provides officials, players and their coaches with rides in a fleet of 164 Ford vehicles. The fleet includes Galaxy and SMax vehicles, two coaches and luggage vans.
Hertz will deploy a team of 40 supervisors and 296 drivers to operate the fleet and transport over 32,000 passengers. The company expects to make over 1,000 journeys a day during just the first four days of the tournament.
Last year, the fleet completed 17,000 journeys, carried over 32,000 passengers and drove nearly 250,000 miles.
