The French Tennis Federation has named Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, Gilles Simon, Gael Monfils and Richard Gasquet as its singles players for the Olympics. No women made the cut as the FFT did not nominate top -10 player Marion Bartoli, who has refused to play Fed Cup for the nation.
However, the FFT has requested a wildcard for Alize Cornet, who on Sunday won her second career tour title at Bad Gastein. Michael Llodra and Tsonga and Julien Benneteau and Gasquet will be the two men’s doubles pairings, while a wildcard has been requested for Cornet to team up with Kristina Mladenovic in the women’s doubles.
