World No. 1 doubles pair Max Mirnyi and Daniel Nestor defeated defending champions Bob Bryan and Mike Bryan 6-3, 6-4 to win the AEGON Championships trophy Sunday in London.

In a re-match of the Roland Garros final, the top seeds won 24 of their 26 first serve points and broke the Bryans three times to win their fourth title of the season in just 52 minutes, improving to 2-1 against the American twins in 2012.

Mirnyi and Nestor have won 10 matches in a row, winning 20 straight sets dating back to their quarter-final defeat at the ATP World Tour Masters 1000 event in Rome (l. to Bhupathi/Bopanna). In addition to their successful title defence on Parisian clay, the Belarusian/Canadian tandem also triumphed in Brisbane (d. Melzer/Petzschner) and Memphis (d. Dodig/Melo).

Nestor celebrated his fourth success at the Queen’s Club while Mirnyi collected his first crown in five final attempts in London.

The Bryans were aiming to win their fifth trophy at the ATP World Tour 250 grass-court tournament and dropped to a 3-3 record in title matches this year.

In Halle, top seeds Aisam-Ul-Haq Qureshi and Jean-Julien Rojer captured the Gerry Weber Open title on Sunday, defeating Treat Conrad Huey and Scott Lipsky 6-3, 6-4.

The Roland Garros semi-finalists won 80 per cent of their service points and broke Huey and Lipsky once in each set to wrap up the final victory in just under one hour.

“I knew it was going to be a tough final. I played Huey three times this year and Lipsky twice, so we had a little bit of an idea on what to do. Because they had lost to us, we knew they would come in pumped, so we expected them to play really well,” Qureshi told ATPWorldTour.com.

“The whole tournament, the key for us has been to stay positive and use our momentum from Roland Garros. We ended up doing it and I’m really happy with how played during the week, dealing with the different situations we were in. Last year, it was very special to win here. But defending a title for the first time in my career is definitely very sweet and I’d like to thank my partner Jules for making it happen.”

Qureshi and Rojer improved to a 2-0 record in title matches, having lifted their first team trophy in Estoril (d. Knowle/Marrero). Both won their seventh career ATP World Tour title.

“I really like this tournament. It’s my third time here,” said Rojer. “It was a little difficult, because Aisam won here last year and earlier in the year, he helped me defend my title in Estoril, so I wanted to do the same back for him. Also, I was told on the court that it was Father’s Day by my partner, so I’d like to dedicate this to my father.”

Huey was bidding to win his first tour-level title, falling to a 0-3 final record. Lipsky dropped to a 6-7 mark.
