Singles – Second Round: (1) R Nadal def. L Lacko 7-5 6-1
Rafael Nadal complained about having to transition to grass too quickly, but he seems to have done it easily enough….
Singles – Second Round: (2) R Federer def. F Mayer 6-4 7-5
No problems with the grass transition for Roger Federer, either. Florian Mayer’s Wimbledon seed is safe, but he won’t be hitting the Top 25 at this time.
Singles – Second Round: (WC) T Haas def. (6) M Granollers 6-3 6-4
There will be no Top Twenty spot for Marcel Granollers; he will be #22 or lower.
Singles – Second Round: (8) P Kohlschreiber def. L Kubot 6-7(5-7) 6-1 6-3
One more win and Philipp Kohlschreiber should earn a Wimbledon seed. And, if he earns one, he’ll have enough grass points that he should be promoted by the seeding formula.
Doubles – Quarterfinal: Huey/Lipsky def. (2) Cermak/Knowle 6-3 5-7 10-6 (Match TB)
Doubles – Quarterfinal: Kubot/Youzhny def. Raonic/Shamasdin 6-3 7-5
Queen’s
It was another rainy day, so only six of the singles matches were finished….
Singles – Third Round: I Dodig def. (2) J Tsonga 7-6(7-3) 3-6 7-6(7-5)
This place is simply murder on seeds. This is particularly surprising, given Jo-Wilfried Tsonga’s liking for grass — but Tsonga took a spill in the final set and hurt his right hand; there is concern that his Wimbledon chances may be damaged. The only consolation, and it’s slight, is that he couldn’t earn any points here. Ivan Dodig could, though, and he needed this — indeed, he needs two more wins to defend his points.
Singles – Third Round: (9) K Anderson def. (5) F Lopez 7-6(12-10) 7-6(9-7)
With tiebreak scores like that, it’s clear Feliciano Lopez wasn’t tanking — but there was more on the line here for Kevin Anderson than for Lopez. Lopez will be in the Top 16 block of Wimbledon seeds, and can’t move above that. Anderson’s Wimbledon seed is secure, but the seeding formula just might promote him into the Top 24 — if he does well enough here. Which he might, since he is now the top player in the top half!
Singles – Third Round: (6) M Cilic def. L Rosol 7-6(7-3) 6-2
Lukas Rosol probably earned enough points to make it back into the Top Hundred, although with very little to spare.
Singles – Third Round: S Querrey def. (8) J Benneteau 6-3 3-6 6-3
Julien Benneteau will lose a few ranking spots, but his Wimbledon seed looks safe. Sam Querrey has a real chance to move — he faces Dodig next.
Singles – Third Round: G Dimitrov def. N Mahut 7-6(7-3) 6-4
That’s so typical of Nicolas Mahut: Have a big dramatic match — in this case, a win over Andy Murray — and then fade….
Singles – Third Round: X Malisse def. S Bolelli 7-6(7-5) 6-3
More evidence that grass is still the surface for Xavier Malisse. Too bad it’s a 250 point event; even for a guy ranked #84, these point won’t help much.

Doubles – Second Round: (5) Bhupathi/Bopanna def. Baghdatis/J Murray 6-3 7-6(7-5)
