Second seeds Bob Bryan and Mike Bryan maintained their quest for a second Roland Garros title on Tuesday with a 6-1, 4-6, 6-4 victory over Oliver Marach and Horacio Zeballos for a place in the semi-finals.

The Bryans won 16 of their 19 service points in the 23-minute first set, before Marach and Zeballos broke at 5-4 in the second set. The Bryans took a 3-0 lead in the deciding set, which helped them improve to 45-12 on Parisian clay. The match lasted one hour and 42 minutes.

The American twins won their first Grand Slam championship title at Paris in 2003, when they beat Paul Haarhuis and Yevgeny Kafelnikov 7-6(3), 6-3 in the final. They were also runners up in 2005 and 2006 (l. to Bjorkman-Mirnyi both times). They have an 11-9 record in major finals.

The Bryans will face No. 10 seeds Aisam-Ul-Haq Qureshi and Jean-Julien Rojer for a place in the final. Qureshi and Rojer held a 6-4, 2-1 lead over Michael Llodra and Nenad Zimonjic when the third-seeded duo retired from the match due to Llodra’s back injury.

This will be the third meeting between the two teams during this season’s European clay swing. Qureshi and Rojer prevailed 18-16 in the Match Tie-break of their Madrid second-round match, and the Bryans won in straight sets in the Nice semi-finals.

Qureshi and Rojer joined forces at the start of the 2012 season. They compiled a 5-9 match record through the end of April, but have since gone 12-2 and won their team’s first title at the Estoril Open.
