Singles – Fourth Round: (1) N Djokovic def. (22) A Seppi 4-6 6-7(5-7) 6-3 7-5 6-3

These are, of course, the matches that top players win — somehow. And Andreas Seppi, as a result of this, will not be a Top Twenty player. We show him at #23.

Singles – Fourth Round: (3) R Federer def. D Goffin 5-7 7-5 6-2 6-4

David Goffin will be hitting the Top Hundred after this, and we’ve a feeling a lot more people will be paying attention to him in future.

Doubles – Third Round: (1) Mirnyi/Nestor def. (15) Lipsky/R Ram 6-2 6-4

Mirnyi/Nestor remain in the hunt for #1…

Doubles – Third Round: (2) Bryan/Bryan def. Knowles/Malisse 6-3 6-2

…but every win for the Bryans strengthens the brothers’ chances of reaching #1, because they lead Mirnyi/Nestor in safe points; the Bryans can coast to #1 with a tie, whereas Mirnyi/Nestor have to outlast the Bryans. As they used to say in the navy, a stern chase is a long chase. We currently show the Top Ten as follows:
