Open de Nice Côte d’Azur: World No. 10 John Isner makes his event debut as the top seed. Second seed Gilles Simon, born in Nice, also makes his first appearance. Defending champion Nicolas Almagro, who defeated Victor Hanescu in the 2011 final, is seeded third, while home favourite Gael Monfils is the No. 4 seed.
Power Horse World Team Cup: The tournament features eight top tennis nations in a round robin format during the week. Among the players competing are seventh-ranked Tomas Berdych (Czech Republic), eighth-ranked Janko Tipsarevic (Serbia), former World No. 1 Andy Roddick (United States), and Philipp Kohlschreiber, who leads reigning champion Germany.

The World No. 8 leads his team at the Power Horse World Team Cup in Dusseldorf, as Serbia looks to win the title for the first time since 2009.
Tipsarevic has been consistent in 2012, reaching his eighth ATP World Tour final in Chennai, the semi-finals in Madrid (d. No. 1 Djokovic) and Marseille, and the quarter-finals in Miami, Dubai and Barcelona. The 27-year-old Serb is no stranger to team competitions, helping his country lift its first Davis Cup trophy in 2010.
