Andy Murray broke some bad news about the Miami tennis scene.
According to the world No. 4, who owns a Miami apartment near the Brickell Tennis Club, which has been called an “urban tennis oasis” and has seven green clay courts, it will be turned into a parking lot.
“I’m really disappointed they’re closing it down,” he said. “It’s always been busy when we go there, but I guess there’s more money in people parking cars than people running around tennis courts. Money talks sometimes, unfortunately.”
Cliff Drysdale’s management company has been operating the facility. “It’s a really nice club,” Murray said. “It’s a nice atmosphere. The people that run it are great. But it’s gone in the next week or so.”
