Having already pulled off the feat in Acapulco, Sara Errani swept the singles and doubles titles at the Barcelona Ladies Open to become the first player since Serena Williams in 2009 to achieve two sweeps in the same season.

Afterwards, Errani dedicated her week to Piermario Morosini, an Italian soccer player who collapsed and died of cardiac arrest during a match the day before. He was 25. “This tournament is for him,” she said. “It really makes you think. It makes you realize many of the things we complain about in life are pure nonsense.”

In Copenhagen, Angelique Kerber spoiled Caroline Wozniacki’s perfect record at her home tournament, beating her in the final for her second WTA title after Paris in February.
