Mirnyi and Nestor put on another classic doubles clinic late this afternoon at the 2012 BNP Paribas Open. Knowles, Nestor’s former partner, entered last minute with Almagro and it was clear that the Spaniard was not in his element. The baseliner was eaten up by serves and the constant forward attack of Mirnyi/Nestor. Knowles tried his best to level the playing field between the two teams, but even with his vast experience, Mirnyi/Nestor were able to play and take advantage of Almagro.

Mirnyi is still a beast on the court, serving upwards of 125mph and covering all angles at the net. Some of the volleys he made had the veteran tennis fans on hand shaking their heads or clapping in admiration. Nestor wasn’t too shabby either, taking control of the middle and serving effectively at the right moments.
