Greetings and hope you can enjoy the ATP/WTA tennis going on here at the 2012 BNP Paribas Open! I just wanted to take a moment to inform you about certain events going on outside of the professional tennis that’s on display. One of those events is a ball recycling program taking place Saturday and Sunday (March 10th-11th) where if you bring in 6 used Penn tennis balls to Tennis Warehouse, they will give you a brand new can of Penn tennis balls!
Saturday is also Emirates Day on site where fans can look to receive a free Red Emirates hat upon entry to the site. If the Emirates cabin crew spots you wearing that hat around the grounds, you could find yourself in the middle of Stadium 1 with a chance to win a luxury vacation to Dubai! Pretty sweet huh?
Next, tennis clinics were being held around the practice courts early this morning. Anyone can sign up and pay for ticket package deals or just for the chance to hit on the courts that the pros are playing on! I’ll leave you with some pictures of the sights around the grounds.
Wozniacki practices serves while www.10sballs.com’s own Sven Groeneveld coaches her.
The Radwanska sisters getting in some early morning practice.
Michael Llodra and Nenad Zimonjic (and his coach/friend) playing a form of bocce ball or lawn bowling on the practice court! Maybe they should have been hitting tennis balls instead because they lost to Nadal/M.Lopez in the first round!
