Mayor Brown gets some help with his forehand
On February 15th, MWKF had the honor of hosting Mayor Alvin Brown. The Mayor toured our facility with Mal and students had the opportunity to discuss the impact MWKF has had on their lives. Mayor Brown even hit the courts with students, getting some tips on how to perfect his forehand from Student Athlete of the Year, Benzell Lang.
HPT Soaring to New Heights
The High Preformance Tennis team is having a great season! On February 11th, Benzell Lang won the Boys 16’s consolation draw and Rudolph McSwain made it to the Quarterfinals of the Boys 14’s Draw. Camaren Gregory, Tatiyana Roberts and Katrina Davis also competed put in strong performances. On February 25th, four HPT players competed in the Old City Championships at Palencia Country Club. Rudolph McSwain made it all the way to the Semifinals! We’re proud of all of our players and we wish them luck in their future games.
