The 2012 Texas Tennis Open, a Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) event, announced that MetroPCS Communications, Inc., the leader in flat-rate, no annual contract and unlimited wireless services, is an official sponsor of the 2012 tournament and the co-presenting sponsor of the Tennis for 10,000 Kids Community program.

The 2nd annual Texas Tennis Open is an “International Level’” tournament with prize money of $220,000. It features a singles draw of 32 players and a doubles draw of 16 teams. The tournament will take place August 17 through August 24, 2012 at the Hilton DFW Lakes Hotel in Grapevine, Texas.

The Tennis For 10,000 Kids program was developed by the Texas Tennis Open as a outreach program and a way to give back to the community by providing free tennis play and instructional opportunities for local school-aged children. Working through a variety of venues including parks, schools, clubs and corporate campuses, local tennis professionals, volunteers and tour players come together throughout the year to provide free play to local youth.
