Singles – Semifinal: (3) M Raonic def. R Harrison 7-6(7-4) 6-2
Milos Raonic is guaranteed to fall in the rankings this week. That’s because his points from the Memphis final are more than he can possibly earn at this 250 point event. But he is defending everything he can. This will keep him just below the Top Forty — and, of course, he’ll have the chance to add more at Memphis.
Singles – Semifinal: D Istomin def. (5) J Benneteau 6-3 6-7(4-7) 6-3
Denis Istomin seems finally to be back in his form of two years ago. It perhaps helped that Julien Benneteau came here pretty tired after Davis Cup. Benneteau will not rise above #29 (which will still be a career high). Istomin is up to about #42 (he’s actually ahead of his final opponent Milos Raonic in safe points), and would be around #34 with a title.
Doubles – Semifinal: (Anderson/Moser def. (2) Lipsky/Ram 7-6(7-5) 6-4
Doubles – Semifinal: (4) Knowles/Malisse def. Muller/Rochus 7-6(7-4) 6-3
