Singles – Quarterfinal: (1) Victoria Azarenka def. Yanina Wickmayer 6-0 6-4

The Azarenka Express powers on — she is now more than a thousand points ahead of her nearest rival. It appears Yanina Wickmayer will end up at #24.

Singles – Quarterfinal: (3) Samantha Stosur def. Monica Niculescu 6-2 2-6 6-3

Samantha Stosur keeps her lead on Agnieszka Radwanska in the contest for #5 — for now. Monica Niculescu will probably be #29.

Singles – Quarterfinal: (4) Agnieszka Radwanska def. Christina McHale 6-1 6-1

At this rate, Stosur and Radwanska may play each other in the final for the #5 spot…. We show Christina McHale up to #34.

Singles – Quarterfinal: (5) Marion Bartoli def. Lucie Safarova 7-5 4-6 6-1

It’s as if Lucie Safarova can only beat the players who had a pile to defend this week. Still, she did well enough to rise to #25.

Doubles – Quarterfinal: (1) Huber/Raymond def. (7) Goerges/Zheng 6-7(2-7) 7-6(7-3) 11-9 (Match TB)

Much harder than it should have been, but Huber/Raymond win their sixth straight match. These are important wins for Huber, who last year at this time won Dubai.

Doubles – Quarterfinal: (5) Llagostera Vives/Rodionova def. (4) Kirilenko/Lisicki 6-4 6-7(3-7) 10-7 (Match TB)

Doubles – Quarterfinal: Barrois/Groenefeld .def. Jans-Ignacik/Mladenovic 6-2 6-3
